Delivery Hero and AWS Professional Services partnered to develop a comprehensive solution: vehicle capacity planning and route optimization that dynamically adjusts routes based on evolving constraints, thereby maximizing efficiency, reducing operational costs, and ensuring reliable, on-time delivery to each dark store. Given the diverse and varying conditions across the markets in which Delivery Hero operates, the modular design of the solution allows for easy adaptation to market-specific constraints.
2023Delivery Hero Saves €8 Million per Year After Reducing Fraud by 99% Using Amazon Rekognition
Delivery Hero began using AWS in 2011 and decided to build a solution using Amazon Rekognition, which automates and lowers the cost of image recognition and video analysis with machine learning. Delivery Hero met a 6-week deadline and reduced fraudulent facial verification attempts from 80 percent to 0.1 percent, which constitutes 99 percent, while saving around €250,000 per month on account fraud and preventing €430,000 per month from civil and criminal liability.
