What do you like best about the product?
First and foremost is an open-source and free operating system that provides services and features such as Virtualization, Stability, Patch Management and Intuitive GUI, plus agility and great community support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although it is such a great operating system still there are room for improvement in supporting more drivers and games, meaning that the graphics part of the OS needs more work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Ubuntu for programming plus personal use of my Desktop, so far so good, new versions and updates plus great community support keep me on track with this OS.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it for yourself and enjoy the smoothness of this OS, after all, it depends on your needs and preferences but for coding and personal use, Ubuntu is my favorite.

For the one who needs speed with stabilty!

  • April 28, 2022

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Ubuntu is its file system, super easy and manageable. Under the root directory, you get containers of all storage including 'home' and 'desktop'. Also, the speed of extracting compressed folders is unmatched. On Windows, it will take you an hour just to determine the size of the react.js project folder. But with Ubuntu it is just a matter of a few seconds. So, for web and mobile developers, this OS is a boon.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, there is nothing to dislike in this OS, just that if you are new to this OS, it will take some time for you to get acquainted, else it is just perfect. Unlike other OS, here you get Snap store which resembles more like Play and App Stores of Mobile OS. It is very tedious to learn how to install deb executables on Ubuntu using terminal commands.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Me being a web developer wanted to develop a website on the React.js framework. Usually, the environment setup is not ideal with my older windows OS, so I switched to Ubunto. First I tried HyperV virtualization, but after seeing the speed of Ubunto, I have completely moved my PC to Ubuntu. It is open-source software so I need not pay anything. This makes me an independent contributor as well. Now publishing my live updates and editing the bugs are far easier than my old setup.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I will just say "try once", and you will never go back to your old OS. It will solve your 99.99% of problems, and also the few those have never been known to.

What do you like best about the product?
its graphical interface and its similarity to other operating systems is very intuitive
What do you dislike about the product?
When a driver fails and is not in the update list it is difficult to get it to work, it has happened to me a couple of times with wireless cards that have stopped working, but in the end it is possible to get it to work
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
replace classic operating systems and have an alternative that is less vulnerable or fewer viruses are made for this system

Stable server to run production workloads

  • April 27, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu is one of the best free server products. It is secure and stable. Runs for months without the need for much maintenance. Especially if you are looking for a cost-effective way to host your workloads, you can go for Ubuntu server.
What do you dislike about the product?
As such there is nothing to dislike, but if you are a Windows user moving to Linux, you may find it difficult initially as the user interface is little different compared to Windows.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ubuntu was used to run batch processing workloads - for e.g. image processing. In addition, it was also used for building software componenets.

The best and secure OS server for application deployment

  • April 27, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu server is the perfect OS available in the market to deploy any kind of software applications. It is very easy to set up and the community support is very large. It is open-source and free to use and it has a lightweight installation option.
What do you dislike about the product?
A most third-party application is still not available in ubuntu OS. Almost paid games or applications are still not given support for the ubuntu server. Also some times we may feel frustrated because of the updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's a powerful OS to deploy our software applications without any difficulties and complexity. It is open source and has large community support from all over the world.
