Good for the most control for users
What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to install what I want without any obstacles.
What do you dislike about the product?
There tends to be a lot of driver issues when using Ubuntu. It cannot handle my Bluetooth headphones switching between devices. If my headphones connect to my phone while they are connected to my computer, it will never switch back to my computer unless I disconnect my phone.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ubuntu gives me finer control over the programs on my computer and installing them unlike Windows or Mac. This allows me to do what I want with my workspace and allows me to work efficiently.

Excellent and friendly, especially for developers but also for everyday users. You have complete control of everything, and at the same time, all come ready to use. Fast install.

There are still problems with running some software that is made for windows, but all the common ones work, is just some games and specific rare software that bring trouble.

A user-friendly operating system that resuscitated an old laptop computer
What do you like best about the product?
To put things into context, we installed Ubuntu Desktop 22.04 LTS to replace Windows 10 on an Asus A43S laptop (purchased in 2014), which was running unacceptably slowly. In addition to changing the laptop's operating system to Ubuntu Desktop, we replaced the stock spinning hard drive with a used Crucial MX500 SATA solid-state drive (SSD), which we pulled from one of our other personal computers. We did not increase the laptop's memory (4 GB).
What we like best:
1. Installing Ubuntu Desktop from a bootable USB thumb drive was straightforward and quick, except when setting up the Livepatch service (see below). The laptop's hardware was automatically configured such that everything worked flawlessly without additional intervention on our part, e.g., the keyboard, trackpad, and wifi card.
2. Ubuntu Desktop requires fewer resources than Windows 10 to run smoothly. Changing the operating system to Ubuntu Desktop has sped up the laptop's boot-up time (under 20 seconds) and made it more snappy in everyday operations, e.g., opening files and folders, web browsing, and opening and closing applications.
3. The suite of applications included in the "normal installation" of Ubuntu, as opposed to the "minimal installation," met our needs. Nevertheless, we installed Google Chrome and VLC media player due to familiarity with these two software applications. The installation of these two applications was straightforward and similar to that on Windows 10.
4. Ubuntu Desktop's graphical user interface is user-friendly. The default modified GNOME desktop environment is intuitive and efficient on our laptop's 14-inch display.
5. Many articles and videos that address everyday tasks, such as installing the operating system, executing terminal commands, and adding and removing software applications, are available on the Internet.

What do you dislike about the product?
Despite several attempts, we could not set up the Canonical Livepatch service during installation. The rest of the installation process went smoothly without a hitch.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our laptop was practically unusable in its stock configuration and while running on Windows 10. With Ubuntu Desktop (with a hardware upgrade to an SSD), we could revive this laptop to such an extent that it now operates like any of our other computers equipped with current hardware. In this way, Ubuntu Desktop has helped to save us the expense of purchasing a new laptop computer while still functioning like a modern mainstream personal computer.
